Milled Aramid Fibres

A range of milled and staple fibres, all based on 100% recycled para-aramid fibres, with various fibre lengths from 200 microns to 3 mm.

Characteristics

Recycled para-aramid, industrial performance

More than 10 years ago we developed different types of recycled para-aramid milled fibres; we have been selling these materials ever since.

  • High strength — up to five times stronger than steel on an equal weight basis.
  • High heat resistance — some types resist more than 500 °C.
  • Fibre lengths from 200 microns to 3 mm.
  • 100% recycled para-aramid base material.

Applications

Mainly used in gaskets, brake linings and thermoplastic compounds. Milled carbon and aramid fibres are also applied in aerospace and military applications, ballistic-rated body armour fabric, bicycle tyres and as an asbestos substitute.

Where the material comes from

Sourced through Polyarn bv

Our affiliated company Polyarn bv sources production residues and post-consumer waste such as yarns, filaments, selvedges and webbing, and arranges purchase, transport and documentation for these materials.
